- A respectful partnership between children, parents, staff and Administration is sought
- Children can achieve full potential in their academic, creative, personal, physical, moral and spiritual development
- Children learn respect for themselves and others and through various projects learn to care for the needs of the disadvantaged in our society.

All About Holy Faith Preparatory School - St. Bernadette’s
At St. Bernadette’s there is a family environment – a home away from home. The members of staff are also like a family, loyal to one another. They work as a team, creative and multi-talented. Our school population is diverse and culturally rich. Our children are like a rainbow, mixed races. We work with all mixed abilities, creating an environment to bring out the best in each child. We give all the pupils a good foundation – academic, spiritual, social, emotional, physical and creative, which enables them to excel later in life.
Holy Faith Prep School, St. Bernadette’s would like to make our school nut-free for the safety and health of all our students. The nut-free policy began on January 26th, 2015. Our school community is making a commitment to be a nut-free school and we need each student, teacher, and parent to help us make St. Bernadette’s a safer place for kids who have food allergies.
Our History
St. Bernadette’s Preparatory School opened its doors on Monday 21st May 1962. A Preparatory school run by the Holy Faith Sisters and already in operation at Pembroke Street when the premises at 13 St. Ann’s Avenue became vacant.
Archbishop Finbar Ryan OP asked the sisters to rent the premises and start a Prep school to accommodate the St. Ann’s/ Maraval area. Some of the students who were attending school at Pembroke Street moved to St. Bernadette’s.
The first student to be registered at St. Bernadette’s was Gerard Eric Mackie. When the school first opened in May 1962, there were fifty-two (52) students on roll. By the following September, the number had increased to one hundred and twelve (112) and by 1987 there were two hundred and eighty (280) students enrolled in St. Bernadette’s and today in September, 2023 there are approximately 200 students enrolled at St. Bernadette’s with fourteen permanent teaching staff members.
